FAMU: Wind Band Festival

Students I encourage you to attend the 2026 Wind Band Festival at Florida A&M University, taking place April 10–11, 2026, in Tallahassee, FL at the Lee Hall Auditorium. This exciting two-day event brings together outstanding high school honor band students and visiting symphonic bands for an inspiring weekend of music-making, collaboration, and performance excellence.

Participants will work with an exceptional lineup of guest clinicians, including:

Dr. Shelby R. Chipman – FAMU Director of Bands

Dr. Julian E. White – Retired FAMU Dir of Bands/Dept Chair Emeritus

Colonel Don Schofield Commander and Conductor United States Air force Band,

Dr. Mark Walker – Director of Bands Troy University

Dr. John K. Southall – Director of Bands Indian River State College

Dr. Bentley Shellahamer – Asst. Professor of Music, Florida State University.

The festival will also feature a special showcase performance by the FAMU Wind Symphony.
